Luepke, Norma (Marriage – 29 Sept. 1934)

At 6:30 O'clock Saturday evening, September 29 in the Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer, Miss Norma Luepke, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Luepke, was united in Marriage to John Cross, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Cross. Rev. A. C. Stapel officiated.

The bride wore a gown of white satin, floor length, and a tulle veil made in a cap effect, trimmed with pearls and ending in a long train. A shoulder Bouquet was worn. Miss Ruth Neuman, bridesmaid, Miss Isabelle Stelzl, maid of honor, and Mr. Vilas Luepke and James Cross, best men, made up the attending party. Miss Neuman wore a light blue rough crepe and the maid of honor light green of similar material, both made floor length. They wore shoulder bouquets similar to the brides. The groom wore a dark suit.

The church was decorated for the occasion with cut flowers. About 100 guests were present at the wedding and at the reception which followed at the home of the bride. The house was artistically decorated with white and green streamers and cut flowers. A lovely wedding cake and cut flowers adorned the table.

The groom is now employed as a teacher at Mound School, between Loyal and Neillsville. The young couple will be at home to their many friends immediately, on Route 1 Greenwood. The best wishes of their many friends go with them.

*** Note: The year of marriage is from the church records of Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer, Marathon County, Wisconsin.
