Gliniecki, Charles T. (7 Mar. 1928 – 18 Jan. 2009)

Charles T. Gliniecki, 80, of Stratford died Sunday, Jan. 18, 2009, at Saint Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Stratford with the Rev. Thomas Rudolph. St. Joseph's Resurrection Choir will provide the music for the services. Burial will be in St. Adlabert's Cemetery in the town of McMillan, Marathon County. Military rites will be conducted at the cemetery by the VFW Post No. 6352 of Stratford. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren.

Visitations will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009, at Sauter/Rembs Funeral Home in Stratford and again at 10 a.m. until time of the services Thursday. There will be a parish prayer service at 5 p.m. Wednesday.

Charles was born March 7, 1928, in the town of Eau Pleine, Marathon County, to Cecil and Jennie (Gostomski) Gliniecki. He was united in marriage to Marcella R. Fischer Aug. 17, 1950, at St. John's Catholic Church in Marshfield.

He served in the U.S. Air Force as a sergeant during World War II from Sept. 18, 1946, until his honorable discharge Sept. 8, 1949.

They farmed in the town of Eau Pleine for 20 years before joining Badger Consolidated, now Foremost in Marshfield. He retired in 1988 and enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching sports. He also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.

Charles was a member of the VFW Post No. 6352 of Stratford.

Charles is survived by his wife, Marcella; five children, Kathy (Jerry) Tiedemann of Mosinee, Susan (Allen) Hannemann of Glidden, Linda (Joe) Frane of Stratford, Pam (Dave) Ehrike of Stratford and Chuck (Julie) Gliniecki of Stratford; 13 grandchildren, Kelly, Justin and Josh Tiedemann, Amy, Tara and Laurie Hannemann, Kyle Frane, Micah, Krisha and Alanna Ehrike, Anthony, Chelsey and Logan Gliniecki, and one great-granddaughter McKenzie Hannemann. He is further survived by two sisters, Caroline Anderson of Milwaukee and Geraldine (Bernie Sr.) Dick of Mosinee.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Lori Gliniecki, one brother and three sisters.
