Knutson, Linda E. (Schaefer) Brost (February 8, 1937 - July 19, 2011)

Linda E. Knutson, 74, Marshfield, died Tuesday, July 19, 2011, surrounded by her loving husband and family at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital Palliative Care.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, July 22, 2011, at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield with Rev. Chris Schwanz officiating. Burial will held at a later date. The visitation will be held on Friday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Rembs Funeral Home.

Linda was born on February 8, 1937, in Stratford, the daughter of Leander and Sylvia (Pauli) Schaefer. She attended schools in Rozellville and Marshfield.

She married Vernon Brost on May 26, 1955, in Rozellville and they later divorced.

She then married Larry Knutson on March 13, 1978, in Marshfield.

Linda had been employed at various restaurants and bars in Unity and Marshfield. Later she and her husband Larry operated an adult foster home for the developmentally disabled for thirteen years. She enjoyed traveling, particularly to Branson, Mo., She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Marshfield.

She is survived by her husband, Larry and by seven children, Ronald (Marilyn) Brost of Unity, Randy Brost of Unity, Rodger (Eren) Brost of Murrieta, Calif., Renee (James) Elpert of Unity, Roxanne (Paul) Wetterau of Spencer, Rosalee Rogers of Unity, and Rhonda (Richard) McBride, Jr. of Unity.

She is also survived by 24 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She is further survived by three sisters and two brothers, Joanne Schneider of Wisconsin Rapids, Lee Schaefer of St. Joseph, Mo., Diane Schneider of Marshfield, Carol (James) Eberhardy of Mosinee, and Jerald Schaefer of Arpin.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorials may be designated in her name to Immanuel Lutheran School.
