Leo A. Younker (6 Mar 1915 - 21 Feb1974)

Leo A. Younker, 58, route 3, Tomahawk, a former farmer and tavern owner in the town of Mayville (Clark Co., WI), died unexpectedly of an apparent heart attack Thursday while ice fishing.

Rites will be conducted at 10 am Monday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Tomahawk with the Rev. Edward Powell, pastor, officiating. Graveside services and burial will take place about 1:45 pm Monday in the Dorchester Memorial cemetery.

Visitations may be made after 3:00 pm Sunday at the Krueger and Son Funeral Home in Tomahawk, where a parish vigil service will be held at 8 pm. Sunday.

Mr. Younker was born March 6, 1915, in the town of Mayville, Clark County, and moved to Tomahawk in 1965. His marriage on May 25, 1938, at Dorchester, was to the former Lenore Rahn, who survives him.

He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Tomahawk.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Gerald and Thomas Younker, both of Green Bay; five daughters, Mrs. Jean Seidel and Mrs. Marcia Tomczyk, both of Dorchester, Mrs. Deanna Thompson, Racine, Mrs. Kathleen Van Ark, Green Bay and Mrs. Colleen Lundberg, Tomahawk; a brother, Joseph Younker, Spokane, Wash.; a sister, Mrs. Rita Krueger, Eagle; 11 grandchildren; and three step grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents, the late Joseph and Mary Younker, a son, a sister, a brother, and a grandchild.
