Mae Younker (2 May 1911 - 13 Mar 1957)

Mrs. Rudolph Younker, 45, former resident of this community (Dorchester, Clark Co., WI), died at 11:40 pm Tuesday, in a Madison hospital. Her death was attributed to a brain tumor. She entered St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield on Monday, March 4, and the following Thursday was taken to the Madison hospital by ambulance. She underwent surgery for removal of the tumor Tuesday morning of this week, and died that evening.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 16, from St. Bernard’s Catholic church, Abbotsford. The Rev. Father Raymond B. Schulz, pastor, will officiate at the 9:30 am rites, and burial will be in the Abbotsford cemetery.

A rosary will be said Friday evening at the Zink Funeral Home, Abbotsford, where the deceased will lie in state until time of the services Saturday.

Mae Stange was born May 2, 1911, in Wausau, and was adopted when a baby by the late Mr. and Mrs. Frank Stange. She was reared and attended school in the town of Hoard. She and Rudolph Younker were married Nov. 8, 1932, in the St. Louis Catholic Church here.

They made their home in this area, residing at Greenwood, Marshfield, Curtiss, and for three years lived in the house which is now the L.D. Sorenson home here. The past four years they had resided at Abbotsford.

Surviving are her widower, four daughters and a son: Mrs. Nyle (Marie) Brandt, Loyal, Mrs. Verlyn (Loretta) Pockrandt, Loyal, and Darlene, Sharon, and Dennis at home; three grandchildren; a brother, John Stange, Wausau, and a sister, Mrs. Sadie Wade, Milwaukee. Three children, twin sons and a daughter, died in infancy.
