Casey, James Patrick (9 AUG 1939 - 16 MAY 2012)

James Patrick Casey, 72, died on Wednesday, May 16 at St. Claire's Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa.

An Irish wake was held at the Drum and Monkey in Chicago, Ill. on Saturday, May 19. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Aug. 4 at 12 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Reedsburg.

James Casey was born on August 9, 1939 in Fox Lake to James "Pat" and Arvilla (Horkan) Casey. He graduated from Reedsburg High School in 1957.

On February 12, 1966 at St. Patrick's in Peoria, Ill., he married Kathleen Brophy, who survives.

He has lived and worked in several areas of Wisconsin, and they owned Casey's Tap in Westboro. He retired in 1994 from Tombstone Pizza in Medford.

In addition to his wife, survivors include his mother, Arvilla Casey of Colby; four children, Dan (Connie) of Wisconsin Rapids, Monica (Bill) Tesmer of Colby, Kevin (Anna) of Gilbert, Ariz., and Tim of Chicago; nine grandchildren, Michael, Sean, Caitlin and Cristin Casey, Brooke and Brendan Tesmer, and Bradley, Matthew and Andrew Kells; five sisters-in-law, Peggy (Jack) Kocher, Trish (Jim) Flynn, Diane Haycock, Berna (Phil) Stickelmaier and JeanAnn Brophy; a brother – in – law, Bobby (Steph) Brophy; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Pat; two infant sons; in-laws, William and Margaret Brophy; a sister-in-law, Sister Mary Ann Brophy SSND; and three brothers-in-law, Billy Brophy, John Brophy and Merv Haycock.
