Levenson, Raymond Charles (7 SEP 1927 - 29 JUN 2012)

Raymond Charles Levenson, 84, Ogema, died in the Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, Minn., on Friday, June 29.

He was born in Chicago, Ill. on September 7, 1927.

He served his country in the United States Army Signal Corps during World War II in the European Theater of Action. He was married to Myrtle Pearson in Prentice on June 25, 1949. He was employed by the White Motor Company as Parts Manager. He retired in September of 1989 after 40 years of service.

He and Myrtle moved to Ogema at the time of his retirement. He was an active member of the First Lutheran Church of Ogema. In his free time, he enjoyed travel, the outdoors, deer and grouse hunting, snowmobiling, yard work, cooking, handywork around the house, playing cards, Saturday morning breakfasts with the guys, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by Myrtle, his wife of 63 years; by three children, Raymond of Minneapolis, Minn., Nancy (Kenneth) Nikkila of Westboro, and Michael (Cindy) of Riverside, Calif.; by three grandchildren, Ken, Kevin and Sean; and by four great-grandchildren, Nathan, Nicholas, Nash and Kendra. He is preceded in death by one brother, Ed.

Funeral services were held on Monday, July 2 at the First Lutheran Church in Ogema, with Pastor Rick Hall officiating. Interment was at the Prentice Cemetery in Prentice. Pallbearers at the funeral service were Kevin and Ken Nikkila, Kenneth Pearson, Floyd Nelson and Ralph Lucht.

The Heindl Funeral Home in Prentice assisted the family with arrangements.
