Fredericka Georgas (23 Dec 1849 - 22 Jan 1936)

Funeral rites were held at St. Peter's Lutheran church here (Dorchester, Clark Co., WI) at 2 p.m. today for Mrs. Fredericka Georgas, 87, who died at her home here at 6 p.m. Friday of chronic neuritis and pneumonia. Rites were conducted at the home at 1:30, the Rev. J. Brandt officiating, and burial took place in the Memorial Cemetery.

Fredericka Schultz was born in Germany on Dec. 23, 1849, and came to this country with her parents when but a year old. They settled in Howard's Grove, near Sheboygan, where she lived until after her marriage to Frederick Georgas on Nov. 10, 1872.

In 1879 they came to Dorchester and settled on a farm two and one half miles west of the village, moving to town in 1913. Mrs. Georgas was a charter member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church.

She is survived by two children, William and Miss Bertha, both of Dorchester, and also by two nephews, Martin Mertz, Detroit, and Albert Mertz, Chicago, who were brought up in her home. There are three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers at the funeral were Oscar Laack, William Yanke, Otto Fitzlaff, Henry Beisner, Ray Dake, and Fred Woempner.
