Ernest Whitmore Passes Away

Ernest Whitmore, 75, who spent most of his youth in Spencer and who was born in Knowlton, Wisconsin, passed away in a Minneapolis, Minnesota on January 17th, 1949.

Mr. Whitmore was married to Emma Kobs of Spencer in 1893 and his widow, Emma and two sons, Rileyof Minneapolis and Dewey of Merrill; two daughters, Jean of Minneapolis and Alta of Mazonmanie, Wisconsin; two sisters, Lettie Rossman of Loyal and Hazel of Bremerton, Washington; and one brother, Archie of Bremerton, survive him.

Mr. Whitmore also had 9 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Wednesday in Minneapolis and Thursday at the Schramm Funeral Home in Merrill, Wisconsin. Interment will be in the Merrill cemetery.

Mr. Whitmore will be well remembered here having lived here for a few years, his parents having lived here also. He at one time operated a meat market in the building now owned by Wm. Fisher.
