Schaefer, Max (14 DEC 1875 - 8 JUL 1964)
Max Schaefer, 88, of 
Stetsonville, died July 8, 1964 at Memorial Hospital at Medford, where he had 
been a patient for several weeks.
Mr. Schaefer, who was born in Germany 
Dec. 14, 1875, came to America in 1882 to Michigan. In 1884 the family moved to 
the town of Holton (Marathon, Co., Wis.), where he lived until 1947. He lived at 
Medford for two years and then moved to Stetsonville.
He is survived by 
his wife, the former Bertha Lueddecke, four sons and a daughter, and one brother 
and three sisters; 25 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
Relatives 
from this area who attended the funeral Saturday afternoon at Peace United 
Church of Christ at Dorchester and the interment in the Dorchester Memorial 
(Peace) Cemetery were Mr. and Mrs. Reinhold Schaefer and Sharon, Mr. and Mrs. 
Lawrence Stetler, Mr. and Mrs. George Rueden and Cindy, and Mrs. C.J. Klieforth 
of Abbotsford, and Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Schaefer and Sandy of Owen.
