Koffarnus, Cynthia (15 AUG 1964)

Miss Cynthia Koffarnus, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Koffarnus, and Nels C. Anderson, son of Mrs. Agnes Anderson, all of route 1, Dorchester (Clark Co., Wis.), and the late Carl Anderson, were united in marriage Saturday afternoon, Aug. 15, 1964, at the First Presbyterian Church at Abbotsford. Vases of pink, white and yellow gladioli graced the altar before which the Rev. Charles Glidden witnessed the exchange of their wedding vows in a two o'clock double ring ceremony. Miss Bonnie Melvin was organist for Miss Diana Schultz who sang "O Promise Me" and "The Lord's Prayer."

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, was attired in a gown of silk organza designed with a lace yoke and Sabrina neckline on the fitted bodice and long tapered sleeves. Lace panel inserts trimmed with sequins detailed the front of the skirt with a full train arranged in a butterfly effect at the back of the waist. A fingertip bouffant veil of four tiers of netting was secured to a crown of crystals and pearls. She carried a cascade arrangement of red roses, red garnette roses, white carnations and stephanotis with streamers to which roses were tied.

Her attendants wore gowns of mint green nylon chiffon over taffeta made with bell-shaped skirts, elbow length sleeves, and a streamer from the back of the Sabrina neck of the fitted bodices. Their headpieces were matching bows.

Miss Enid Scheibe of Abbotsford, the bride's cousin, as maid of honor carried a cascade bouquet of white carnations and pink pompons with white satin trim.

Similar bouquets of white carnations and pink and yellow pompons were carried by three bridesmaids: Miss Kathy Koffarnus of Colby, the bride's cousin, Miss Diane Anderson and Miss Judy Koffarnus, both of Dorchester, and sisters of the bridal couple.

Miss Kathy Rankl of Abbotsford, a cousin of the bride, who was dressed like the bride and carried flowers like the bride, was the flower girl.

Kurt Rankl of Abbotsford carried the rings. Victor Anderson of Dorchester was his brother's best man. Kenneth Tischendorf, a friend of the groom, Oscar Koffarnus Jr. and Kenneth Anderson, all of Dorchester, brothers of the couple, completed the wedding party.

Guy Rankl of Abbotsford and Dean Marcott of Dorchester seated the guests at the church.

Mrs. Koffarnus chose a shirt-waist style print dress of blue, gold and brown for her daughter's wedding, and Mrs. Anderson wore a yellow print sheath dress with matching jacket. Both mothers had white accessories and corsages of pink roses and white carnations.

Festivities of the wedding day included a dinner at the church basement, a reception at the home of the bride's parents, and a dance at Dorchester Memorial Hall.

About 200 guests came from Milwaukee, Wausau, Merrill, Abbotsford, Curtiss, Stetsonville, Colby, Owen, Racine, Chicago, and Rockford, Ill., Shelbyville, Mich., and Cheyenne, Wyo.

After the new Mr. and Mrs. Anderson return from a honeymoon trip to Michigan they will make their home in Dorchester. The bride is employed at Employers Mutual of Wausau and her husband is employed at Pathfinder Mobile Homes at Spencer.

The bridal couple were honored on Friday evening preceding the wedding at a rehearsal party at the Clarence Rankl home, with Mr. and Mrs. George Scheibe as co-hosts.
