Matter, Delores (5 APR 1922 - 30 MAY 2013)
Delores 
Matter, age 91, went to her eternal home, Thursday, May 30, 2013, at Ministry 
St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield, surrounded by her loving family. A Mass of 
Christian Burial will be held 11:00AM, Tuesday, June 4, 2013 at Christ The King 
Catholic Church in Spencer. Fr. Samuel Martin will officiate. Visitation will be 
held from 9:30AM until the time of service at the Church on Tuesday. Burial will 
take place in the West Spencer Cemetery following the funeral Mass.
Delores was born April 5, 1922 to John and Rachel (Gennett) Sautner in 
Marshfield, WI. She attended Holmes Country School in Spencer. On June 23, 1943 
in Marshfield, Delores was united in marriage to Walter Matter. The couple 
enjoyed 67 years of marriage together. 
Delores was a loving wife, 
mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Christ The 
King Catholic Church in Spencer. She was also an artist who enjoyed creating 
clay figurines and crocheting. Delores enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and 
family outings at the cabin in Phillips. Those that knew her best will miss her 
warm spirit, laughter, and her love of family.
Delores is lovingly 
survived by her children: Michael (Barbara) Matter of Appleton, Peg (Brian) 
Gehrke of Marshfield, Joe (Patty) Matter of Spencer, and Jennifer (Bryan) 
Nehring of Green Bay; a daughter-in-law, Jeanne Matter of Howards Grove, and her 
grandchildren: Kimberly, Christopher, Lindsay, Andrea, Michael, Sean, Chelsea, 
Marissa, Vaughn and Christina. Delores is further survived by 7 
great-grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She 
will truly be missed.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents, John 
and Rachel; her loving husband, Walter; a son, Thomas, a granddaughter, 
Stephanie Matter; a brother, Jim; and two sisters, Virginia and Eunice. 
The family would like to express their appreciation to the 4th floor and 
Palliative Care staff of St. Joseph's Hospital and the staff of Golden Living 
Center- Three Oaks, for their wonderful and compassionate care of our Mother, 
Delores.
