Weiler, Dianne Mary (Schoknecht) (13 FEB 1941 - 28 MAY 2013)

Dianne Mary Weiler (Schoknecht), age 72, died at her home while surrounded by her family, on May 28, 2013 after her valiant fight with cancer.

Dianne was born in Milwaukee on February 13, 1941 to the late Benhardt and Irene (Mosciski) Schoknecht.

Dianne enjoyed Girl Scouts from grades 1-12 and was especially proud of being a majorette in the marching band all four years of high school. She graduated in 1959 from Solomon Juneau High School in Milwaukee.

Dianne married her high school sweetheart, Milton L. Weiler, on September 9, 1961. She then graduated from Milwaukee Technical College in 1968 with a nursing degree. She started her nursing career at Milwaukee County Hospital and finished her career as an occupational health nurse at Weather Shield Manufacturing, where she retired in 2006.

Dianne and Milt had three children, Kent (Jane) Weiler of Thorp, Yvonne Weiler of Athens and Lynette Weiler of Athens. Dianne's passion and delight were her children and especially her granddaughters, Andrea Weiler, Alison Weiler and Jude Weiler.

In 1970 Milt and Dianne moved from Milwaukee to Edgar where they pursued a new adventure by becoming owners/operators of Weiler's Hardware Hank for 40 years.

Dianne especially loved supporting her children's and grandchildren's passion for sports, animals and dance recitals. She also loved spending time at the cottage, entertaining and spending quality time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed the many pontoon rides and camp fires.
Milt and Dianne were some of the founding members of the Poniatowski Dare Devils snowmobile club. Both of them loved snowmobiling and had many adventures together.

Dianne was a beloved wife, mother, mother-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandmother and aunt.

Dianne is preceded in death by her parents, Benhardt and Irene Schoknecht, her loving husband of 51 years, Milton Weiler, and her mother-in-law, Helen Weiler. Dianne leaves behind numerous loving relatives and friends.

The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 8 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Athens. The Rev. Charles Hiebl will preside. Friends may call on Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home in Athens, and again on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the time of services at the church. There will be a 7:45 p.m. prayer service on Friday at the Athens funeral home.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all who cared for Dianne at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield Clinic and especially Dr. Tom Stoffel during her illness.

The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love, prayers and support, too many to name individually.

Online condolences may be expressed at www.petersonkraemer.com.
