Kurth, Sharon Corrine (Marriage - 20 September 1969)

Miss Sharon Corrine Kurth, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond E. Kurth of Rt. 1 Granton, was united in marriage at 2 p.m. Saturday to Neal Raymond Sarow, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harlin J. Sarow of Eau Claire, in the Zion American Lutheran Church in the Town of Grant. The Rev. Evan Dieck officiated at the double-ring ceremony before approximately 350 guests. Two white and red bouquets of carnations and ‘mums, mixed with green foliage, were at the altar.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a full length gown of organza and Chantilly type lace, featuring an empire waistline and A-line skirt. Tiny seed pearls and sequins trimmed the lace bodice and the simulated redingote skirt front. The full back skirt was fashioned in tiers of lace and flowed into a chapel length train. A three-tiered crown of borealis crystals formed her headpiece. She carried a large cascade of red roses with entwined ivy and dangling ivy roses.

Mrs. Ronald Newman of Eau Claire served her sister as matron-of-honor, Miss Georgianna Barth of Milwaukee, Mrs. Wayne Kurth of Neillsville, Mrs. Glen Kurth of Marshfield, and Mrs. Jack Downer of Milwaukee, were bridesmaids. They wore floor length, fitted sheaths of red taffeta, with white lace cages, styled with elbow-length sleeves and scoop necklines. Crowns of borealis crystals, with trailing red nylon tulle, formed their headpieces. Each carried an all-green arrangement of ferns and ivy and other greens, centered with lemon green carnations.

Gary Sarow of Milwaukee served his brother as bestman. Groomsmen were Michael Kurth of Menomonee Falls, Wayne Kurth of Neillsville, Glen Kurth of Marshfield, and Glen Sarow of Milwaukee. Ushers were Terry Rinderknecht of Appleton and Ronald Newman of Eau Claire.

Lynn Wesenberg of Granton was flowergirl. Her gown was styled identically to that to the bridesmaids, but was in white. She carried a nosegay of red and white carnations.

A wedding reception and dinner were held at Bali Hai Supper Club, with 250 guests attending, followed by a gathering at the home of the bride’s parents. Music was furnished by the Bill Chambers orchestra. Decorations were red and white streamers and lighted red candles.

The bride attended Granton public schools and is employed with the postal division of the United States Government. The groom is a graduate of Milwaukee Lutheran High School and is attending Milwaukee Technical College. He is presently employed in Milwaukee.
