Luchterhand, John (24 JUN 1892 – 04 JUL 1965)

Services were held Wednesday, July 7, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal for John Luchterhand, 73, who died of complications at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, July 4, at his home in Loyal.  The Rev. A.M. Moldenhauer officiated and burial was made in the Loyal Cemetery.  Funeral arrangements were made by the Myre Funeral Home.

Mr. Luchterhand was born June 24, 1892, in the town of Loyal.  On May 8, 1918 he married Anna Johnson at Trinity Lutheran Church, Loyal.  After their marriage they farmed in the town of Loyal until 1951, when they retired and moved to the city of Loyal.

Mr. Luchterhand was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and had served as treasurer of the Sunny Knoll School in the Loyal Township for twenty years.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Vera) Oestreich, Wisconsin Rapids; and Mrs. James (Janet) Bradshaw, Alma Center; a brother, Otto of Crestwell, Oregon; and two grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.

Pallbearers were William Seeman, Harold Dahl, Howard Sturtz, Leonard Kollmansberger, Henry Lemke and Leonard Noeldner.

Mrs. Erwin Dux and Mrs. Verland Dux sang “What a Friend We Have in Jesus: and “Abide With Me”, they were accompanied by Faith Moldenhauer at the organ.

Out of town relatives and friends attending were Mr. and Mrs. James Bradshaw and family, Alma Center, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Oestreich, Wisconsin Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Bradshaw, Whitehall, Mr. and Mrs. John Stelson and Mr. Dale Stelson, Marshfield, Mr. Arthur Syth, Mrs. Hulda Zeng, Greenwood, Mrs. John Mattson, Neillsville, Mr. and Mrs. James Zuege, Spencer.

Mr. Basil Nyen, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Solberg, Mrs. Carl Holte, Blair, Mr. and Mrs. John Capetz St. Paul, Minnesota, Mrs. Edwin and Mrs. Anita Miller, Greenwood.
