Mr. and Mrs. James Rust and family moved from the Friedman house on West Begley Street into the Beyer residence on Crocker Avenue.

Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Spangler and daughters arrived Wednesday evening from Watertown to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Viv Carteron.

Mrs. Kathryn Ivey has returned after a 10-day visit with relatives in Port Edwards, Nekoosa, Richland Center, Reedsburg and Viola.

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Eaton arrived from Mellen to spend several days at the home of Mrs. Vera Wuethrich, before leaving to spend the winter in Texas.

The Misses Hilda and Cilla Kippenhan and Mrs. Herbert Wickesburg of Appleton spent from Sunday until Wednesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. George Humke.

Mr. and Mrs. Norman Olson and children, Cindy, Pamela and Tommy, of Milwaukee and Mr. and Mrs. Orville Schwarze of Spencer were recent guests at the home of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schwarze.

Mr. and Mrs. Everett Humke and daughters, Christie and Shelley of Rochester, Minn., spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Stewart. Saturday afternoon they attended the 89th birthday celebration honoring his father, Theodore Humke, at Memorial Home in Neillsville.

Timothy Moore, 12-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. George Moore, underwent an appendectomy Monday in Marshfield.

The Salem Aid will meet November 18. Hostesses will be Mrs. Henry Horn and Mrs. Harold Gardner.

The West Side Homemakers will meet November 18 at the home of Mrs. Phillip Vollrath. The lesson will be on “Ideas for Christmas Gifts” and knitting instructions.

The Home Interest Homemakers club will meet November 18 at the home of Mrs. Jerome Sowieja. Mrs. Kathryn Ivey will be co-hostess. The various chairmen will give reports.

Mr. and Mrs. Verne Vollrath and sons of Janesville are spending a week with their parents, Mr and Mrs. Henry Vollrath and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Horn.

The second annual holiday bazaar and bake sale will be held November 17 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. A chili dinner will be served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Coffee and cookies will be served all day.

The adult fellowship of Immanuel United Church has presented “Guide Post” magazine subscriptions as Christmas gifts to the following young people in service: Gary Braun, Dennis Bolf, Ronald Franz, Lynn Schwarze, Roger Schwarze, Allan Meinhardt, Edwin Egbert and Coreen Liebzeit.

Samuel Wuethrich returned to Great Lakes Naval Station Tuesday after spending two weeks with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Allen Wuethrich.

Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Meinhardt drove to Black River Falls Saturday evening where they attended the operetta, “Oliver” which was presented by the high school music students under the direction of Larry Hansen, vocal instructor at the school. The Meinhardts’ son Ron Meinhardt, band instructor at Assumption High School in Wisconsin Rapids, also attended, along with some of his students.

The Forest Queen Royal Neighbors met Monday evening in the Zion United Church hall. Mrs. Lawrence Cox presided. A letter was read from Mrs. Marion Russell, state supervisor. Plans were made for the next meeting, which will be held December 1, with election of officers and a Christmas party. Gifts will be exchanged and there will be a potluck lunch. Games were played and prizes were awarded to Mrs. O. J. Amundson, Mrs. Julia Koci, Mrs. Frances Hinker and Mrs. Alice Perkins. A lunch was served by Mrs. Alma Mason and Mrs. Edgar Opdyke.

The Adult fellowship will meet in the Zion United Church Sunday evening. Hostesses will be Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Olson and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Schneider.

The American Legion Auxiliary will meet Monday evening in the Legion hall. Hostesses will be Mrs. Henry Smith, Mrs. Vincent Sowieja, Mrs. Eugene Sowieja, Mrs. Robert Stewart and Mrs. John D. Speich. Members and anyone interested are asked to bring or send to this meeting, cash donations or articles for the Christmas gift shop.
