Garbisch, Alfred (17 July 1908 - 13 February 1970)

Alfred L. Garbisch, 61, of Rt. 1, Granton, died Friday afternoon at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield. Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p.m. from the Zion Lutheran Church in Granton. The Rev. Roland Roehrs officiated and burial was made in the Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery.

Mr. Garbisch was born July 17, 1908, in the Town of York, where he received his education. He was married to Viola Wittke in the Town of Weston December 18, 1940. They lived on a farm in the Town of York. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Milton Garbisch of River Falls and Roger Garbisch, at home; three daughters, Mrs. David (Virginia) Olson of New Glarus, Mrs. Richard (Eileen) Smith of Wausau, and Janice, at home; two brothers, Bernard Garbisch of Granton and William Garbisch of Chandler, Ariz.; four sisters, Mrs. Freida Dahl of Chili, Mrs. Andrew (Emma) Billman of Abbotsford, Mrs. Wilbur (Dora) Billman of Burlington, and Mrs. M. (Gertrude) Schroeder of Racine; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Everett Kauffman, Harold Schlinsog, Carl Harlen, Frederick Elmhorst, Robert Elmhorst and Edward Ploman. “The Lord is My Shepherd” and “Be Still My Soul,” were sung by Mrs. Roger Helm, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Lee Garbisch.
