Schumacher, Lloyd E. (23 DEC 1941 - 1 JUL 2013)

Lloyd E. Schumacher, 71, town of Corning, in Merrill, died Monday, July 1, 2013, at his home, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, 2013, from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens.

Lloyd E. Schumacher, 71, town of Corning in Merrill, Wis., died Monday, July 1, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his loving family, under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services.

He was born December 23, 1941 in Rockford, Ill., son of the late Lester and Margaret (Miller) Schumacher. On December 15, 1963, he married Sue Wilson in Byron, Ill. She survives.

Lloyd and Sue moved to Wisconsin in 1975, where they farmed in the town of Corning for almost 40 years. Lloyd was a member of the Rolling Jay Birds Camping Club and a lifetime member and participant of the Edgar Steam Show. Among his favorite pastimes, he enjoyed collecting red tractors, both small and large, raising donkeys, and traveling, especially his two trips to Alaska, among numerous other trips. He also enjoyed listening to country western music, a good prime rib dinner, attending tractor shows and going to Goodrich on Wednesday's to have lunch with the lunch bunch.

Lloyd was very proud of his children and grandchildren and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include, his wife, Sue Schumacher, town of Corning; three daughters, Mary (Clayton) Schmitt, Athens, Jill (Daniel) Strand, town of Corning and Kristine (Kevin) Baneck, Hamburg; 10 grandchildren, Joe (Beth) Heier, Melanie Lucio, Justin Schmitt, Derek and Riley Westfall, Josh (Holly) Strand, Karissa Strand, Gregory, Kaitlyn and David Baneck; eight great-grandchildren, Elijah, Noah, Xandria, McCormick, Nathan, Karson, Beno and Austin; one brother, Gary Schumacher, Winnebago, Ill,; three sisters, Betty Hepner, Winnebago, Ill.; Nancy (Bill) Kipling, Rockton, Ill. and Judy (Wayne) LaMont, Rockford, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Janet Lindsey; and one brother, Larry.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, 2013 from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Peterson/Kraemer Funeral Home, Athens.
