Story, Shayla Rose (25 MAR 1996 - 4 JUL 2013)

Shayla Rose Story, 17, of Bloomer, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2013, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester, Minn., as a result of an auto accident.

Shayla was born on March 25, 1996 in Stevens Point to Brett and Stacey (Williamson) Story.

Shayla attended St. Paul's Catholic School and Bloomer Middle School. She had just completed her junior year of high school at Bloomer High.

Shayla enjoyed power lifting with Glen Steffen and Sue Bedient, hanging with friends, mudding, shopping, spending time with family and especially with her cousins at Aunt Kristie's Krazy Kamp for Kids.

Shayla worked as a cashier at Shaddicks Price Rite in Bloomer.

Shayla will forever remain in the hearts of her parents, Brett and Stacey, and brothers, Eric and Tanner, all of Bloomer; paternal grandmother, Della Story of Jump River; maternal grandparents, Bill and Janet Williamson of Tyler, Texas; uncles, Kurt Latz of Bancroft and Kirby Latz of Jump River; aunts, Kim (Danny) Trawicki of Gilman, Kristie (Davey) Winger of Gilman, Wendy (Matt) Dernovsek of Hudson and Faith (Tracy Schones) Williamson of Rochester, Minn.; and many cousins who will miss her dearly.

Shayla was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Duane Story, and great-grandparents, Guy and Beatrice Mallo, Leo and Lillian Story, William and Rose Williamson and Arthur and Vera Horney.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, July 10 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Bloomer, with Father John Potaczek celebrating the Mass. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 9 at Schriver-Thompson Funeral Home in Bloomer and also from 10 to 11:30 a.m. prior to mass on Wednesday, also at the funeral home. Burial was at Saint Paul's North Catholic Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Kyle Winger, Blake Winger, Landon Trawicki, Quentin Dernovsek, Kade Latz, Jordan Latz, Albert Latz, Troy Amborn, Tyler Amborn and Craig Amborn.

Memorials are preferred and may be given to the family to be used at a later date.

Schriver-Thompson Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Bloomer served the family.
