Luce, Romilda (16 MAR 1923 - 8 JUL 2013)

Romilda "Millie" Luce, 90, of Beloit, WI, died Monday, July 8, 2013, in her home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with Leukemia.

She was born March 16, 1923, in Park Falls, WI, the daughter of Herbert and Mabel (Kautzer) Marschner. Millie was a graduate of Granton High School and the UW of Stevens Point College. She married Alfred Luce Jr. on August 14, 1954, in Loyal, WI. He predeceased her on April 28, 1984.

Millie taught school in Wood, Marathon and Clark Counties where she taught in a one room school house grades 1-9. She was also employed by Admiral Corp, Freeman Shoes and retired from Aurora Pharmacy. Millie enjoyed camping with her family, spending time with her grandchildren, bowling on leagues, being a den mother for Cub Scouts and participating in school activities. She was an avid Milwaukee Brewer fan. Millie was a member of Women of the Moose #56.

Survivors include her children, Michael (Karen) Luce of Beloit, WI, Patrick (Peggi) Luce of Stratford, WI, Kathleen (Daniel) Cornford of Beloit, WI, and Colleen (Steve Rosseter) Luce of Benton, WI; grandchildren, Douglas Luce, Thomas Luce, Heather Luce, Benjamin (Annette Knoff) Luce, Katie Luce, Shannon (Kelly) Cornford-Latham, Shawn Cornford, Melissa (Jared) Brown, Breena (Josh) Kearney and Ryan Luce; great grandchildren, Kellen, Tyler, and Alice; sister, Doris (Lloyd) Laskowski of Janesville, WI; and brother, Lester (Jannette) Marschner of Marshfield, WI.

She was predeceased by her parents, two sisters and two brothers.

Women of the Moose #56 service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI, followed by a funeral service with Reverend David Carlson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Janesville, WI. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Visitation will also be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service Saturday in the funeral home.

Memorials may be given in her name to Agrace Hospice.
