Dr. A.W. Price of Rockford, Ill. spent two days here among friends the past week. He was favorably impressed with the future of this community, and saw no reason why an investment here would not be a good thing.

Wood hauling is the principal business here at present, and it is no uncommon thing to see four carloads go out a day.

Jacob Blut has a sick cow.

Mr. Rossman of Greenwood was a business caller here the other day.

R.R. Thomas, wife and baby Grover came back Wednesday from their holiday vacation spent at Mt. Morris and Leaf River, Ill.

Sam Long was on the sick list for a few days last week.

The Sunday school officers for the year 1911 are as follows: Samuel Long, Supt., Ada Clair, Sec'y and Treas., Harvey Long and R.R. Thomas, teachers, Anna Long, chorister, and A.L. Claire, Janitor. For the year 1910 the Sunday school collections amounted to $35.71, average collection 72 cents, average attendance 23.

The new heating and ventilating system recently installed in the school building is quite an improvement over the old way, and we are wondering how we ever got along in the old way.

As several people wanted the stove recently taken out of the schoolhouse, the board decided to sell it at public auction. This occurred Saturday at 8 a.m. After a siege of active bidding it was knocked down to Jacob Blut. This will go on record as the first sale at Willard. A.L. Claire cried the sale and is so elated over it that he is seriously thinking of taking up that line of work. Anyone desiring his services would do well to correspond with him. His address is Willard.

Hintz and Allen are cutting cord wood.
