Funeral services for Mrs. Alvina C. Marx, 69, Marshfield; a former rural Colby resident, will be held on Saturday, March 27, at the First United Church of Christ, Colby, beginning at 2 p.m.  Burial will be made in the Colby Memorial cemetery.  The Rev. Wallace Hermann will officiate.

Mrs. Marx died at 10:20 p.m. Tuesday night at St. Joseph’s hospital, Marshfield, as a result of a skull fracture suffered in a fall at her home earlier Tuesday evening.

The body will lie in state at Lulloff Funeral Home in Colby beginning Friday morning, March 26.

Mrs. Marx was born Alvina Stock August 2, 1895, in Cleveland, Wis., where she lived during the early part of her life.

On July 31, 1915, she was married to John Marx at Cleveland.  The couple moved to the Dorchester area in 1916, where they farmed.  They then moved to a farm south of Colby in the town of Hull, where they lived until they retired and moved into Marshfield in 1961.

Mrs. Marx was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Colby, and the Ladies’ Aid.  She was also a member of the Royal Neighbors.

Survivors include her husband, John, Marshfield; one son, Harvey Marx, Sheboygan; one daughter, Mrs. Merlin (Geraldine) Wiegman, Oshkosh; four grand children and one great grand child; three brothers, Rudolph and Arvin Stock of Colby and Herbert Stock of St. Paul; and one sister, Mrs. Art (Erna) Wiersig, Colby.  She was preceded in death by one brother, Hugo Stock.
