A former grade school principal in the Abbotsford schools, Mrs. Rose Merriman of Owen, died in Spokane, Wash., at the age of 87 on March 25.  She will be buried from the Holy Rosary church in Owen shortly after her body arrives from the west, probably sometime this week.  Friends and relatives can obtain information concerning the funeral and services by calling the Kraut and Hoepper Funeral Home, Owen.

Mrs. Merriman’s teaching in Curtiss and Abbotsford started in the early 1920’s and extended into the 30’s.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vern, in 1943.  Her sons, Daniel and Bernard, live in Idaho and her daughter, Catherine (Mrs. Gordon K. Le Gault) lives in Stanley.  Two of her sisters, Mrs. Ann Meuli and Mrs. Theresa McKlusky, reside in Eau Claire.  She leaves 13 grand children and two great grand children.
