Querin, Carol J. (11 JUN 1938 - 28 JUL 2013)

Carol J. Querin, 75, Medford, died on Sunday, July 28, 2013, at her residence in the town of Medford, Taylor County. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, Aug. 1, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Medford. Rev. Nancy Amacher and Rev. Kelly Taylor-Schaus will officiate. Interment will take place in Medford Evergreen Cemetery II. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m., on Wednesday, July 31, at Hemer Funeral Home, Medford, and from 11 a.m. until time of service on Aug. 1. Pallbearers will be Justin Olson, John Brost, Ronald Brost and Tyler Brost.

Carol J. Haslow was born on June 11, 1938, in Loyal, the daughter of Alfred and Violet (nee Gretzke) Haslow. She attended school in Loyal and graduated from Loyal High School in 1955. She attended business college in Eau Claire. After her education, she did secretarial work for Colby Packaging in Colby for a short time. She then moved to Medford and worked at Taylor Credit Union from 1963 until her retirement in 2008.

 She married Eugene "Gene" Querin on Oct. 18, 1974. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Medford. She enjoyed golfing, shooting pool, bowling, fishing, gardening, bird watching, reading and knitting.

Survivors include her husband, Gene, Medford; one brother, Gordon (Marlene) Haslow, Loyal; and two sisters, Marliss (John) Paradies, Cornell, and Veryl (Clif) Sackett, Fergus Falls, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
