Meske, Vada E. (21 September 1923 - 18 November 2013)

Vada E. Meske, 90, of Marshfield died Monday, Nov. 18, 2013, at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.

Vada was born Sept. 21, 1923, in Neillsville, to Raymond and Hattie (Liskow) Kutsche and attended Neillsville public elementary and high schools. She was united in marriage to Albert E. Meske Dec. 14, 1941, in Winona, MN. He died March 9, 2006.

Vada began working at Montgomery Ward in Marshfield in 1957 and in 1961, became store manager. At the same time, she also managed Montgomery Ward in Neillsville until its closing. She then became employed in computer work at Figi’s until her retirement. She enjoyed embroidering, shopping, gardening, working and cooking.

She is survived by her daughters, Diane (Terry) Bloch of Manawa and Karen (Scott) Hurless of Marshfield. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Karmin (Scott) Heimbruch, Mike (Karen) Hurless, Tanya (Scott) Jaeger and Laeiad Hurless; and her great-grandchildren, Jestin Tanner Heimbruch, Kyler Jaden Heimbruch, Dylan Michael Hurless, Kaleb Scott Hurless, Joanna Leigh Hurless, Kelsey Lynn Jaeger and Makenna Rae Jaeger.

She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, grandson, Staff Sergeant Jody Hurless and sister, Ruth Rychnovsky.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Marshfield, with Rev. Chris Schwantz officiating. Burial will take place at Hillside Cemetery and great-grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. The visitation will be held Friday from 10 a.m. until service time at Immanuel Lutheran Church.

Memorials may be designated in her name to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Marshfield.
