Miller Craig S. (11 November 1961 - 27 December 2013)

Craig S. Miller, Sr., 52, of Granton was welcomed into heaven, Dec. 27, 2013, surrounded by his family at the House of the Dove, Marshfield.

Craig was born Nov. 11, 1961, in Mason City, IA, the son of Lee and Carolyn (Leer) Miller. He attended grade school in Mason City, IA, and graduated from Neillsville High School. He was united in marriage to Penny K. Eliason at the “Little Brown Church” in Nashua, IA, Aug. 29, 1987. Following their marriage, the couple resided in Iowa for a number of years before moving to Greenwood and then Spencer and settling in Granton. Together, Craig and Penny raised four wonderful children.

Craig had a burden for the unsaved and told everyone he met about the saving grace of a relationship with Jesus Christ; he wanted everyone he met to meet him in heaven one day. His hobbies included farming, hunting, cars, boxing and golf; he was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. As a student in high school, he won medals in track. Craig was a family man, a dreamer and an adventurer. Craig’s greatest joy came from time spent with his family.

Survivors include his loving wife, Penny Miller; his children, Craig S. (Tonya) Miller, Jr., of Brighton, MI, Amber J. (Raymond) Novakoski of Brighton, MI, Audrey L. (Ben) Misikin of Green Bay and Aaron W. (Elizabeth) Miller of Spencer. Craig is further survived by his mother, Carolyn D. (Elroy Sletten) Miller of Greenwood; his brother, Lee D. (Gale) Miller Jr., of Chili; two sisters, Mary Lee (Mike) Leonard of Spencer and Pam (David) King of Mason City, IA; 10 grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Craig was preceded in death by his father, Lee Miller, Sr., and his maternal and paternal grandparents.

A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Marshfield, with visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Pastor Anthony Sari and pastor Moodie officiated. Private committal services will be held at a later date. Serving as pallbearers were: Aaron Miller, Craig Miller, Jr., Raymond Novakoski, Ben Misikin, Anthony Sari and Jimmy Kopf.

The family would like to thank the staff at the House of the Dove for their kind and compassionate care of Craig.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family are appreciated.

Arrangements were entrusted to Life Tributes Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Spencer. Visit online www.lifetributesfuneralhome.com  to share thoughts and condolences.
