Toburen, William H. (22 JAN 1881 - 25 APR 1953)

William Henry Toburen, son of the late William Henry Toburen and Minnie Rover Toburen, was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on Jan. 22, 1881. He came to Clark County (Wis.) when one year old. The family settled on a farm six miles northwest of Greenwood. Here he grew to manhood.

On June 3, 1908 he was united in marriage to anna Schmidt at Alma, Wis. They resided at Wausau for a short time before taking over his parents farm. They lived on this farm until 1945, when they moved to the city of Greenwood.

Mr. Toburen was a member of the school board and town board of the Town of Mead.

Mr. Toburen passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, on Saturday, April 25, 1953 at 10:00 a.m. he had entered the hospital at about 7:00 a.m. that morning. Mr. Toburen had suffered with heart trouble for over a year.

Funeral services were held at the West Side Evangelical and Reformed Church on Tuesday, April 28 at 2:00 p.m. The Rev. Charles Koch officiated. He was laid to rest in the West Side Cemetery.

The pallbearers were: Emil Noah, George Humke, Albert Fravert, Calvin Franz, Jake Speich and Theodore Kippenhan.

Mr. Toburen is survived by his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Fred (Ruth) Robbins, Minneapolis; Mrs. John (Dolores) Goger, Chicago; two sons, Erwin and Delmar, Greenwood; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Nels (Louise) Fulsang, Chicago; and Mrs. Arthur (Amelia) Syth, Greenwood, and a brohter, Gust Toburen, Wausau.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mrs. Wm. Miller and Laura Toburen.
