Westcott, May (14 MAY 1877 - 20 APR 1953)

Mrs. May Westcott passed away at the Krohn Clinic at Black River Falls on Wednesday, April 29, 1953, where she had been taken on Tuesday, April 21st. She had suffered from a heart ailment.

May Ketchum was born at Millston on May 14, 1877. On July 20, 1915 she was married to Herbert Westcott and they came to Greenwood (Clark Co., Wis.) immediately after their marriage. Mr. Westcott ran a tavern here at the time and later he worked at the Big Store. After leaving this job he operated a plumbing shop. He passed away on Dec. 21, 1945.

Mrs. Westcott is survived by a sister-in-law, Mrs. Archie (Anna) Ketchum, three nieces, Mrs. Tony (Gloria) Ruprick, Mrs. Wm. (Goldie) Klink, Mrs. Carl (Genevieve) Strozewski, all of the Black River Falls area.

Funeral services were held at the Ness Funeral Home on Friday, May 1, 1953 at 2:00 p.m. and she was laid to rest in a cemetery at Millston.

The pallbearers were Celan Gotter, Loyal; A.C. Buker, H.R. Baird, Chet, Shields, R.B. Mead and Henry Vollrath, all of Greenwood.

Those who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Celan Gotter, Loyal; Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Buker, Mr. and Mrs. R.B. Mead, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Vollrath, Mmes. O.J. Amundson, Otto Schwarze, Martha Meinholdt, Alma Mason, Minnie Cox, Fred Hohl and Frank Clouse.
