Bork, Ellen Mae (Marriage - 6 November 1971)

Miss Ellen Mae Bork became the bride of Douglas Himes in services performed Saturday, November 6, at 4 p.m. in the Withee United Methodist Church. The Rev. Eugene Antrim officiated at the double-ring ceremony which united the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Bork and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Himes, both couples of Rt. 1 Withee.

The bride wore a princess style gown of slipper satin trimmed with venetian lace, seed pearls and rhinestones as she was given in marriage by her father. She carried a bouquet of red roses and ivy.

The former Miss Bork was attended by Mrs. Curtis Garrett, matron of honor, and Mrs. Ronald Anderson, bridesmaid. Their gowns were fashioned of red velvet accented by white lace trim. Each carried a white carnation on a red velvet muff.

Lessie Himes served as bestman. Groomsman was Dale Keskimaki. Curtis Garrett and Dean Bork shared ushering duties.

“Love Story” and “One Hand, One Heart” were sung by Diane Johnson. She was accompanied by Mrs. Herman Rabska.

A reception was held at the Meadowview Country Club at Owen.

The bride, a graduate of Owen-Withee High School, is a sophomore at Stout State University and has been employed at an Owen nursing home. Her husband, also a graduate of Owen-Withee High School, graduated as well from a heavy equipment training school and is employed by a Clark County construction company.
