Suckow, Grace (12 May 1902 - 29 October 1971)

Funeral services for Mrs. Francis (Grace) Suckow, 69, of Rt. 1 Greenwood, who died October 29, in Neillsville, were held Monday, November 1 at 1:30 p.m. from the Georgas Funeral Home. The Rev. Eugene S. Antrim, Greenwood, officiated and burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mrs. Suckow, the daughter of William and Emma (Stelloh) Zank, was born May 12, 1902, in Neillsville. She attended Silver Crest School in the Town of Pine Valley and later did restaurant work, was employed as a practical nurse, and worked at the Winnebago Home. Her marriage to Francis Suckow took place June 25, 1930, in Neillsville. The couple farmed in the Town of Weston. Mrs. Suckow was a member of the Christie Homemakers.

Survivors, in addition to her husband, include her mother, Mrs. Emma Zank, St. Paul, Mn.; a daughter, Mrs. Norman (Ardith) Poppe, Rt. 3 Neillsville; a son, Wendel Suckow, of Marquette, Mi.; a sister, Mrs. Harold (Leona) Evenson, St. Paul, Mn.; eight brothers, Edward and Frank Zank, both of Neillsville, Walter Zank of Fairchild, Albert Zank of Cedar Falls, Ia., Robert and Charles Zank, both of Pekin, Il., Louis Zank of St. Paul, Mn., and Harold Zank of Center City, Mn.; and eight grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: Robert Chadwick, Floyd and Ervin Heck, John Linster, Bernard Murphy and Arnold Johnson. Daniel Slone sang “How Great Thou Art” and “The Lord’s Prayer,” accompanied by Mrs. Donald Schultz.

Those from out of town who attended the services included Mr. and Mrs. Albert Zank of Cedar Falls, Ia., Mr. and Mrs. Charles Zank and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Zank of Pekin, Il., Mr. and Mrs. Walter Zank of Fairchild, Gordon Smith of Bethesda, Md., Jerry Zank of Chicago, Il., Mr. and Mrs. Harold Evenson and Louis Zank of St. Paul, Mn., Mr. and Mrs. Wendel Suckow and family of Marquette, Mi., Mr. and Mrs. Harold Zank of Center, City, Mn., Theodore E. Giescher of Randolph, Mn., and Wanda Zank and Van Swanson of Green Bay. Many others from the Greenwood area (missing words here)
