Schofield, Emma K. #2 (15 DEC 1874 - 02 OCT 1942)

Emma K. Kloehn was born on December 15, 1874 at Horicon, Wisconsin and passed away after a long illness at her home at Chicago, Ill., on Friday, October 2, 1942, the cause of death being acute myocarditis.
On August 25, 1903 at Minneapolis, Minn., she was united in marriage to Dr. H.R. Schofield to which union one child was born.

Mrs. Schofield received her education in the Public School of Minneapolis and the St. Cloud Normal School of Minnesota. She taught in Greenwood for three years, one year in Wadena, Minn. and five years in the Public Schools of Minneapolis.

For 30 years until the time of her death she resided in Chicago. During her life she was interested in good works and was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed traveling and visited places in the Unites States, Canada, Cuba and the Hawaiian Islands.

She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, one daughter Roberta (Mrs. S. Watters) three sisters, Mrs. Carrie McGovern and Mrs. Josephine Waer of Chicago and Mrs. Marguerite Warriner of California and a host of friends who will miss her kindly personality. One brother Louis M. Kloehn preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held on Monday, October 5, 1942 from the home of Miss Clara Huntzicker, the Rev. Alex J. Abbott officiating. Interment was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Chal Perkins and Mrs. George Haeuser sand “Abide With Me” “My Faith Looks Up to Thee” and “There’s A Wideness In God’s Mercy.” Mrs. John Meng accompanied them on the piano.

The pallbearers were John Drummond, C.C. Hoehne, Fred Huntzicker, C.A. Shields, W.C. Steiger, and Adolph Schwarze.

Those from away who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Wm. L. Smith, Mrs. H.J. Brooks, Mrs. W.J. Russ, Atty. and Mrs. C.R. Sturdevant, Mrs. Lottie Baer Cook, all of Neillsville; Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Huntzicker, Marshfield; Mrs. Carl Chandler, Mr. and Mrs. Carleton Chandler, Blanchardville, and Mrs. Reginald Waldo, Neenah.
