Boedeker, Meta #3 (29 JAN 1872 - 02 MAR 1947)

Following a lingering illness of many years, one of the aged citizens of Warner Township, Clark County, Mrs. Simon Boedeker entered into her rest. She departed this life on Sunday, March 2nd, 1947 at 7:30 p.m., having attained an age of 75 tears, 1 month, and one day. Thirty days prior to Mrs. Boedeker’s death, her husband, Simon Boedeker, entered into his rest.

Mrs. Simon Boedeker, nee Meta Gosse daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herman Gosse, was born in the Town of Herman, Sheboygan County on January 29, 1872, where she grew to womanhood. On December 12, 1891 she was united in marriage with Simon Boedeker; on December 12, of the year 1901 the Baedekers’ left the Town of Herman and took up their residence in the Warner Township, Clark County. Throughout his active years the Baedekers’ farmed and Mr. Boedeker followed the mechanical trade of “wood butchering” as they called it; the building and repair of the sleighs that were used in hauling local timber to the rivers. During the late years, Mr. and Mrs. Simon Boedeker, suffering from ill health and failing eyesight, lived a life of retirement at their rural home.

Services for Mrs. Boedeker were conducted at the Schiller Funeral Parlor and the West Side Church on Wednesday, March 5th, Rev. J.C. Klingeberger officiated. The Senior Choir of the West Side church assisted at the services and interment took place on the West Side Cemetery.

Her husband, son and three sisters preceded her in death.
