Meyer, Dolores M. "Dorie" (Neuens) (6 APR 1933- 1 JAN 2014)

Dolores M. "Dorie" Meyer, 80, of Reedsburg, died Wednesday morning, January 1, 2014, in her home.

Memorial services were held Saturday, January 11, 2014, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Reedsburg. Deacon Tom Hale officiated.

Interment was in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Reedsburg Food Pantry or Agrace HospiceCare would be appreciated.

The Hoof Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Dolores M. “Dorie” Meyer, 80, of Reedsburg died Wednesday morning, Jan. 1, 2014, in her home.

She was born April 6, 1933, in Marathon County, the daughter of James and Frances (Scheffler) Neuens.

November 25, 1954, she was married to James C. Meyer. Dorie worked as a housekeeper at the Edward Snyder Nursing Home until her retirement. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the church choir and a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary. Dorie enjoyed working on puzzles and reading.

Survivors include her husband, Jim; children, Michael (Karen) Meyer of Florida, Kenneth (Sharon) Meyer of Mauston, Diane Meyer and her special friend Pete Mazur of Reedsburg, David (Gail) Meyer of Sauk City, Renee (Dan) Hinze of Reedsburg and Julie Meyer of Rockford, Ill.; 17 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; brothers, Jim (Carolyn) Neuens and Jack (Maryann) Neuens; sisters, Carol (Rod) Westpahl, Marge (Rich) Rosnostik and Joyce (Tom) Ladron; many nieces and nephews; other relatives; and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Geri Richenbach.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 11, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 624 N. Willow St., Reedsburg with Deacon Tom Hale officiating.

Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. There will be a visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Reedsburg Area Food Pantry or Agrace HospiceCare would be appreciated.

The Hoof Funeral Home is serving the family.
