Lamberty, Roy (31 JAN 1943 - 11 JAN 2014)

Born on January 31, 1943 in Whittlesey, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 11 at the age of 70, after battling leukemia and myelodysplastic syndrome, a bone marrow disorder.

Beloved husband of 44 years to the late Kathleen "Midge" Lamberty (LaFontaine). He is survived by his brothers, Robert (Mary), Roman (Lois); sister, Donna (Mike) Roiger; and in-laws, Karen (Ken) Yates/Webb, Dave (Gail) and Tom (Sharon) LaFontaine. He is also survived by his many loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Roy graduated from Medford High School in 1961, served in the United States Army in Germany from 1962 to 1964, and graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. His career began as an insurance underwriter and he worked at various insurance companies over the years. He then became a proud owner of RJ Auto Driveway Company and was very grateful to all his loyal employees.

Roy had a great sense of humor, infectious laugh and endless jokes. He loved playing and watching baseball, traveling and politics.

The family would like to thank all the physicians and caregivers at the VA Hospital over the last 10 years for their compassion and care.

A memorial gathering was held on Sunday, Jan. 26 at Becker Ritter Funeral Home in Brookfield. There will be a future memorial mass and burial on June 21 at 11 a.m. at Whittlesey Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are appreciated to the Leukemia Society, 200 S. Executive Dr., Suite 203, Brookfield, WI 53005 and MDS Foundation.

Roy and his family are eternally grateful to all who have held him in prayer.
