Doberstein, Russell D. (23 MAR 1932 - 9 FEB 2014)

Russell Doberstein, age 81, of Owen, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at Ministry St. Joseph's Hospital in Marshfield.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 22 at the Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home in Abbotsford. The Rev. Kenneth A. Dix will officiate. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Russell was born in Hammel Township, Taylor County on March 23, 1932, the son of Julius and Ruth (Potter) Doberstein. He graduated from high school in 1950 and was drafted into the U. S. Army and served from 1953-55.

Russell was united in marriage to Shirley Wilksman on July 2, 1955 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Medford.

Russell will be lovingly missed by his wife, Shirley, two daughters: Debra Niemi and Lori (Tom) Neumann; his son-in-law, Wally Bogseth; six grandchildren: Dustin, Dylan, Brooklynne, Corissa (Dan) Prior, Nicholas Neumann and Joshua Niemi; one great-grandson, Brock Daniel.

He is further survived by two brothers and one sister: Julius "James" (Nancy) Doberstein of Withee, David (Betsy) Doberstein of Ogema and Janet (Leonard) Langteau of Chippewa Falls; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Sherri Bogseth and a sister, Evelyn (John) Poehnelt.
