Haron H. Henrichs, 89, formerly of the Town of Hamburg, died Tuesday, February 18, 2014 under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care and Hospice Services at the Medford Memorial Nursing Center.

He was born on the family farm on January 25, 1925, in the Town of Hamburg, son of the late Leslie and Minnie (Hanke) Henrichs.

Haron was baptized at home on February 22, 1925. He attended Thayer School where only German was spoken when he started school. He later attended Athens High School. Haron was confirmed at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hamburg on April 2, 1939. His confirmation verse was Psalm 37.4, "Delight thyself in the Lord, and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart".

Haron married Alvira Augustine, his wife of 62 years, on May 26, 1951 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Athens.

After the ceremony a reception was held in the granary at Alvira's parent's farm, and a dance was held at Prochnow's Ballroom, where they met. Haron and Alvira farmed in the Town of Hamburg all their married life, raised ginseng, made maple syrup and in his earlier years worked for Wausau Construction. He was the treasurer for the Town of Hamburg for 17 years. Haron enjoyed playing softball for Huehnerfuss' Exports softball team and also enjoyed playing "Sheepshead" and Smear with good friends, Ann and George Stencil.

Haron will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Alvira, his children, Lynne (Fred) Harder, Tom (Arlene Murkowski) Henrichs and Leslee (Russ) Schneveis, all of Athens, seven grandchildren, Kristi Harder, (Mark), and Matthew Harder (Jessica), all of Athens; Kyle Henrichs, (Megan) and Eric Henrichs (Monica) all of Milwaukee, Michaela Henrichs (Heath) and Brent Schneveis all of Athens, and Jamie (Ben) Cihlar, Marathon, three great grandchildren, Lacey, Parker and Jack Cihlar, one brother and sister-in-law, LaVerne (Joyce Augustine), one sister and brother-in-law, Mavis (Eldred) Nehrbass, two brothers-in-law, David and Ruth Ann Augustine, and Dale and Pat Augustine, all of Athens.

Haron was preceded in death by his parents, Minnie and Leslie Henrichs, siblings and their spouses, Evelyn and Joe Mullins, Emery and Dolores Henrichs, Arlene and James Voight, Wallace Henrichs and Elton Henrichs, and his parents-in-law, Lawrence and Arline (Auner) Augustine.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Athens. Friends may call on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services all at the church. Memorials may be directed to Trinity Lutheran Church c/o the Building Fund or a charity of your choice. The family would like to give special thanks to Pastor Andrew Alberts for his prayers and visits, and to the staffs at the Medford Memorial Nursing Center and Hospice for their dedicated and loving care to Haron at this difficult time. We know he is at peace in heaven with his Lord and Savior.
