Whitlow, Oliver M. (2 NOV 1934 - 28 FEB 2014)

Oliver M. Whitlow, 79, Town of Goodrich, died on Friday, Feb. 28 at his home. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 8 at 12 p.m. at Goodrich Community Church in the Town of Goodrich.

Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of service.

Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home of Abbotsford assisted the family with arrangements.

Oliver Whitlow was born on November 2, 1934 in Lakeland, FL, to the late Lee Holland and Mildred Viola (Rushing) Whitlow.

On October 2, 1965 in Berwyn, Ill., he married Ruth Mikulencak, who survives. He worked for over 40 years as a meat cutter, mostly for National Tea Company, and he was also a custodian for 5-1/2 years for a college.

He was involved with the church where he was president of his youth group, was an AWANA leader for many years and a deacon. He enjoyed watching professional sports, played basketball, football, tennis, and baseball, being known for his knuckleball.

In addition to his wife, survivors include a sister, Vesta of Florida, and a brother, Dean (Glenda) Whitlow of Kentucky.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three siblings, Robert, Tony and Elizabeth.
