Ludwig, Glenn (20 NOV 1934 - 24 FEB 2014)

Glenn Ludwig, 79, Marshfield, died at his home on Monday, Feb. 24, 24 years to the date of his mother's death. Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 1 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Marshfield.

Cremation Society of Wisconsin assisted the family with arrangements.

Glenn Ludwig was born on November 20, 1934 in Dorchester to the late Fred and Margaret (Hurth) Ludwig. He was a graduate of Dorchester High School.

On July 17, 1957 at St. Louis Church in Dorchester, he married Mary Jane Hollman, who survives. He served in the Red Arrow Division of the National Guard from 1952 to 1960. He worked as a mechanic for many years, then later worked as a custodian for the Marshfield School District at Marshfield Senior High and Madison and Lincoln elementary schools.

He was a member of Knights of Columbus, and a Cub Scout leader. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing in Canada, playing baseball, horseshoes and bowling.

In addition to his wife, survivors include six children, Tom (Lisa) Ludwig, Dan (Cathy) Ludwig, Sue (Scott) Orme, Steve Ludwig, Sally Martin and Amy (Joel) Jurgensen; 10 siblings, Jerome (Helen) Ludwig, Joanne (Earl) Emmerich, Norma (Alfred) Meier, Marlene (Darrel) Hermans, Duke (Connie) Ludwig, Loretta (Pat) Kranz, Germaine Imler, Dale (Kay) Ludwig, Sandy (Dave) Bruesewitz and Bob (Nancy) Ludwig; and 12 grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Merlin, and a daughter-in-law, Shelley Ludwig.

Memorials can be made to The Frederic Ozanam Transitional Shelter in Marshfield.
