Kelpin, Elsie H. (11 SEP 1895 – 21 AUG 1991)

Payette – Elsie Henrietta Kelpin, 95, of Payette, died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 1991 in a Payette nursing home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24 at Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Ontario, Ore. The Rev. David Schmidt of Zion Lutheran Church, Nampa, will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Payette.

Mrs. Kelpin was born Sept. 11, 1895 at Neillsville (Clark Co.), Wis., a daughter of Gottlieb and Johanna Mallig. She was raised and educated in Wisconsin. She married Paul Kelpin on Sept. 11, 1920 at Gran, Wis. Elsie and her family moved to Payette in 1928. Elsie was a homemaker for her entire life. Paul died Nov. 6, 1984.

She was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church, Ontario and was active for many years in LWML.

Elsie enjoyed gardening and flowers.

Survivors include two sons, Arthur Kelpin and Russell Kelpin, both of Payette; three daughters, Emma (Mrs. Robert) Ledington of Payette, Lucille (Mrs. Jim) Bischoff of Mountain Home, and Marion Cochran of Boise; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.

Memorial may be made to Pilgrim Lutheran Church or to a favorite charity, c/o Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, P.O. Box 730, Payette 83661.

Friends may call today from 3 to 9 p.m. at the Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel in Payette.
