Kilty, Sandra L. (23 FEB 1951 - 29 MAR 2014)

Sandra L. Kilty, 63, Spencer, passed away at her residence, with her husband and children at her bedside, on Saturday, March 29, 2014. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., on Thursday, April 3, at Saint John’s Lutheran Church in Spencer. Rev. Sue Eidahl will officiate. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., on Wednesday, at Life Tributes Funeral Home-Spencer, and on Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until time of services. Serving as pallbearers will be her sons, Patrick, Joshua and Jonah Kilty; her son-in-law, Nathaniel Fullerton; her first granddaughter, Macey Kilty; and her first grandson, Easton Kilty. Her remaining grandchildren (Abigail, Dehlia, Samantha, Paris, Koehler, Ryann, Kashton, Milan and Jaxon) will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Sandie Oelrich was born on Feb. 23, 1951, in Marshfield, the daughter of Arnold and Muriel (nee Hopfensperger) Oelrich. She graduated from Spencer High School. While in seventh grade, Sandie met the love of her life and they continued their romance through high school and even became prom king and queen of Spencer High School in 1968. On May 16, 1970, David Kilty of Spencer asked his prom queen to be his wife and they were united in marriage at Saint John’s Lutheran Church. Sandie was dedicated to helping others as a health care aide and provided her time and care to those in need. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking delicious foods, baking cakes, gardening and camping with her family. She enjoyed spending time with her kids and grandkids and was always willing to help others. Sandie will be sadly missed. For those who knew her, she battled cancer for more than 21 years. You might even say she was a miracle woman. The cancer never won, it never beat her.

Survivors include her devoted husband, David Kilty, Spencer; her mother, Muriel Oelrich, Spencer; her children, Patrick (Keresa) Kilty, Stratford, Tricia (Nathaniel) Fullerton, Lake Mills, Joshua (Jennifer) Kilty, Marshfield, and Jonah (Renee) Kilty, Marshfield; 11 grandchildren, Macey, Easton and Koehler Kilty, Paris and Milan Fullerton, Abigail, Dehlia, Samantha, Ryann and Kashton Kilty, and Jaxon Kilty; two brothers, Roger (Cheri) Oelrich, Whitehall, and Doug (Jan) Oelrich, Colby; one sister, Michelle (Dan) Foth, Marshfield; her mother-in-law, Elvira Kilty, Spencer; and many other relatives and friends.

Sandie was preceded in death by her father, Arnold Oelrich; her father-in-law, Robert Kilty; a brother, Scott Oelrich; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gary (Linda) Kilty; and a sister-in-law, Judy Kilty.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in Sandie's name are being accepted by her family for a charity to be determined later.
