Danielson, Ottillie Henrietta Louise (15 December 1914 - 12 April 2014)

Ottillie Danielson, age 99, of Neillsville died Saturday, April 12, 2014, at the Neillsville Care and Rehabilitation Center.

Ottillie Henrietta Louise Schoenherr was born Dec. 15, 1914, in the Town of Weston, Clark Country, the daughter of Erich and Pauline (Steinberg) Schoenherr. She was baptized and confirmed in the Immanuel Lutheran Church at Globe. She attended Globe School and Neillsville High School, and then the Teacher’s Training Course. She taught rural school. Ottillie and Otto Kunkel were married in Rockford IL, on July 30, 1935. They were blessed with one daughter, Grete. Otto passed away Feb. 12, 1967. Ottillie married Arendt Danielson Jan. 23, 1977, at the Lutheran Church of the Prince of Peace in Menomonee Falls. He passed away on July 23, 1988.

She was a member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Neillsville, a World Relief Worker, a Red Cross volunteer, a member of the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the ELCA women and a member of the Senior Citizens Club and the Deutcher Klub.

She is survived by one daughter, Grete (James) Riel of Menomonee Falls; two grandsons, Thomas (Abigael) Riel and Mark (Kristine) Riel; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Berdina Padrutt of Cross Plaines and Lydia Blaney of Neillsville. She is further survived by nieces, nephews and many friends.

Funeral services for Ottillie will be held at 11 a. m. Friday, April 18, 2014, at the Calvary Lutheran Church in Neillsville. Pastor Judith Anderson-Bauer will officiate. Music will be provided by Jodi Rueth, organist, and the Calvary Lutheran Church Choir. Interment will be in the Neillsville City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, at the Calvary Lutheran Church.

Casketbearers are: Leroy Lezotte, Douglas Felix, Charles Brody, Harlan Larson, Franklin Mitte and Dick Van Gorden.
