Ehlert, Julia (20 OCT 1895 - 24 JUN 1966)

Funeral services were held at St. Hedwig's Chapel, Thorp on Monday, June 27th for Mrs. August Ehlert, 70, who passed away of arteriosclerosis on Friday, June 24th, 1966. Rev. Roy Mish officiated at the ten a.m. service and burial was made in St. Hedwig's Cemetery.

Pallbearers were: John Barth, Phillip McCaffery, Mike and Bill Lockbaum, Tom Polnaszek and Wm. Micke.

Julia McCaffery was born Oct. 20, 1895 at Stanley, Wis. In Oct. 1919 she was united in marriage to August Ehlert, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Ehlert and her husband operated the South Point Cheese Factory, south of Thorp, for about 25 years, and the Cloverleaf Store and Tavern south of Stanley for about 12 years. She has lived with her daughter Dawn in Milwaukee for the past 7 years.

Surviving are two daughters, (Dawn) Mrs. Richard Bains, 1616 E. Wood. Pl., Shorewood, Wis., (Ardath) Mrs. Robert Carter, 2029 School Ave., Walla Walla, Wash.; two brothers, Wm. McCaffery, Superior, Wis., Phillip McCaffery, Sultan, Wash.; and one sister, Mrs. Charles Scheubel, Stanley, Wis.
