St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Loyal, was the setting of the 2:00 p.m. wedding of Shelley Helen Hartl, 525 North Main Street, Loyal, and Randall David Domine, Route 1, Loyal, on Saturday, November 24, 1979.

Rev. Chester Osowski officiated, with Sharon Schoonover, Mrs. Diane Anderegg, and Miss Judy Zettler providing the music, and Miss Jodi Schoonover as organist.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hartl, 435 North Main Street, Loyal, and Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Domine, Route 1, Loyal.

The bride, escorted to the altar by her father, was seen in a bouffant gown of Chantilly lace with a sweetheart neckline, long sleeves and ruffle tiered skirt sweeping to a chapel train. The elbow length veil had matching lace. She carried a bouquet of cranberry colored roses, pink carnations, and baby’s breath with a sprinkling of greenery.

Attending the bride as matron of honor was Mrs. Jody Miller, Loyal, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Miss Debbie Hartl, Wausau, Miss Barbara Knack, Eau Claire, and Miss Shelby Domine, Loyal. They were attired in dusty rose colored polyester gowns in a blouson style trimmed with Venice lace. Their flowers were pink carnations with white daisies and baby’s breath, and they wore matching flowers in their hair.

Serving as best man was Rodney Kowalczyk, Loyal. Groomsmen were Ray Froeba, Loyal, Kevin Domine, Loyal, and Steve Potter, Route 2, Spencer.

Ushers were Michael Domine, Loyal, and David Smazal, Auburndale.

Wedding day events included a reception, dinner and dance at the Loyal American Legion Hall.

The bride is a 1974 graduate of Loyal High School and attended Mid-State Technical Institute, Marshfield. She is employed as a psychiatric nurse assistant at Norwood Health Center in Marshfield.

The groom is a 1973 graduate of Loyal High School, and is a mechanic at Domine Chevrolet, Company, Loyal.

The couple will be at home at the bride’s address.

Mrs. Chester Smith celebrated her 91st birthday with a surprise birthday party, which she felt was the nicest party she had ever had since childhood.

Much credit is due to Mrs. Philip Smith of Marshfield and Mrs. Ida Lautenbach of Granton. Algie Smith had complete control over the culinary department as she furnished and prepared all the food except for a tray of bars, which were furnished by Mrs. Louella Butterbrodt of Loyal.

Mrs. Lautenbach did all the inviting of guests, took charge of the games, and selected the gorgeous floral centerpiece, which was donated by the guests.

Friends and husband did all the necessary jobs around the house, besides keeping it a military secret.

The children of Rev. and Mrs. David Logue and their spouses, together with grandchildren, shared in the final worship service held on Sunday at Zion United Church of Christ at Greenwood.

A large crowd of members and friends were in attendance and enjoyed the dinner which followed the service.

The Logues regretted leaving Greenwood after 13 years of ministry. Rev. Logue’s new parish will be at Columbus, Montana.

Laurie Ann Schuh, Wausau, and Scott Alan Zinsli, Schofield, were united in marriage at Spencer United Methodist Church by Reverend Charles Strong at 1 p.m., Sunday, November 25, 1979 (the same date as the bride’s parents 25th wedding anniversary.

The bride is the daughter rof Ambrose and Elaine Schuh, Colby, and the groom is the son of Keith and Shirley Zinsli of Spencer.

The bride was seen in a white knit empire waist dress with lace sleeves, train and veil. She carried a cascade bouquet of talisman roses, orange and yellow mums and carnations with matching flowers in her hair.

Attending the bride as maid of honor was Miss Melanie Rickard of Colby.

She was attired in a rust burgundy knit floor length dress with blouson bodice. She carried a nosegay bouquet of pink roses, brown mums and carnations.

Attending the groom as best man was Steve Endreas of Spencer.

A reception and buffet followed the ceremony at the bride’s parents’ home. Later in the evening they were shivareed by relatives, friends and neighbors.

The bride is a 1979 graduate of Colby High School and plans to attend North Central Technical Institute in January. She works part time at Howard Johnsons.

The groom is a 1978 graduate of Spencer High School and works at Marathon Cheese.

The couple will make their new home at 4311 Schofield Avenue, Lot 8, Schofield, Wisconsin 54476.

On Saturday, December 8, 1979 at 10 o’clock at Neillsville, Nila Mae Nelson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Walter Nelson of Route 2, Loyal, became the bride of Randy Potter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Potter of Route 1, Spencer.

Their attendants were Mr. and Mrs. James Rudoll of Neillsville, sister and brother-in-law of the bride, and Mr. and Mrs. Dave Deegan, friends of the bride and groom.

Dinner was served for the immediate families and guests at the Wild Cat Inn, west of Neillsville. A reception and dance with lunch was held at the Municipal Hall in Spencer in the evening, with music by Jay Purkus and the Kind, a band from Marshfield.

The photography throughout the day was done by Miss Elinor Robillard, a teacher at Loyal High School and a close friend of the bride and groom.

The bride is employed at Land O’ Lakes, Spencer, and the groom is with Trierweller Construction and Supplies of Marshfield.

The happy couple will make their home in Willow Court, Spencer, Wisconsin.

Presiding over Commencement and conferring degrees will be UW-EC Chancellor Leonard Haas. Delivering the “Charge to the Class” will be Dr. Philip Chute, chairman of the UW-EC Physics department and this year’s winner of the university’s Excellence in Teaching Award.

Bolt sales in January was discussed, as well as a scholarship for a student going to ag school.

Mrs. Andre lives alone and does most of her housework and cooks most of her own meals, but she enjoys the meals she gets three times a week from the Ponderosa in Spencer. She likes to have some visitors and likes to visit on the telephone.
