Stewart, Judith Ann (20 AUG 1966)

Judith Ann Stewart exchanged wedding vows with William Sweda Saturday afternoon, Aug. 20th, 1966, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Thorp. The Fr. Brockman performed the 1 p.m. ceremony.

The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur L. Stewart, Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.), wore a floor length gown of silk organza over taffeta with a modified sweetheart neckline and long tapered sleeves. Venice lace enhanced the crescent waistline. The back featured a large bow and the panel of the A-line skirt, with a long train. A forward cluster of lace pearls outlined with pearls and sequins held her silk illusion veil, and a white orchid with a yellow throat, stephanotis pompons and ivy in a cascade bouquet completed her ensemble.

Mrs. Aaron Dix attended her sister as matron of honor, wearing an ankle length gown of olive green chiffon with an empire waistline enhance with Venice lace. Mrs. Phil Christman, Abbotsford, was bridesmaid, dressed identically to the matron of honor. Each wore matching headpieces with blusher veils and carried a cascade bouquet of gold and bronze mums of ivy.

Candace Kowalczyk, niece of the groom, was flower girl, wearing a white chiffon made like the bridesmaids', only with a green velvet sash on empire waist. She wore a matching headpiece and carried a wicker basket of gold and bronze mums.

Jeffrey Dix, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer.

The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Matt Sweda, Lublin, was attended by his nephew Gerald Terlecki, best man, and Steve Kaye, also a nephew of the groom, as groomsman. Ushers were: Aaron Dix, brother-in-law of the bride, and Harry Sweda, brother of the groom.

A dinner and dance were held at the Thorp American Legion Hall.

Mrs. Leo Stewart, Withee, was hostess, Mrs. George Kliminski of La Crosse cut the cake and Miss Sandra Burtard, Eau Claire, took care of the guest book.

The bride's mother witnessed her daughter's wedding wearing a citron lace dress with olive green accessories and a green cymbidium orchid corsage. The groom's mother wore a light blue dress with blue cymbidium orchid corsage.

The bride is a graduate of Thorp High School and Accredited School of Beauty Culture, Eau Claire, and will be employed at Lillian's Beauty Salon in Medford. The groom is a graduate of Gilman High School, Medford College and River Falls University, and is a teacher with the Pleasant Heights School system in Medford.

After a short trip the couple will make their home at 406 S. Seventh St., Medford, Wis.
