Piehl, Emil F. (14 OCT 1874 – 17 AUG 1965)

Funeral services for Emil F. Piehl, 90 Medford, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 20, at the Polnaszek Funeral Home, Abbotsford. The Rev. Richard Davis of Eau Claire will officiate at the service. Burial will be made in the Elmore cemetery, Elmore.

The body will lie in state at the funeral home from 12 noon Thursday until the time of the service. Mr. Piehl died Tuesday morning at the Leahy Nursing Home, where he had been a patient for the past two months.

Emil F. Piehl was born Oct. 14, 1874, at Campbellsport, Wis. He moved to Taylor county in 1915, and on March 8, 1916, he married Ada Harris at Medford. He lived in the town of Medford until May, 1965, when he was hospitalized, spending the last two months of his life in the Leahy Nursing Home, Abbotsford.

He is survived by three sons, Fred Piehl of Eau Claire, Edwin of Altoona, and Martin, Ann Arbor, Mich.; two daughters, Mrs. Servella Dean of Baltimore, Md., and Mrs. David (Ruth) Wedlund, Eau Claire; 15 grand children and two great grand children; and a half-sister, Mrs. Marie Becker, Hartford. One daughter and one half-sister preceded him in death.

Piehl, Emil F. (14 OCT 1874 – 17 AUG 1965)

Services were conducted at the Polnaszek Funeral Home, Abbotsford, Friday morning, at 10:30 for Emil F. Piehl, 90, who died Aug. 17 at the Leahy Nursing Home. The Rev. Richard Davis, Eau Claire, officiated and burial was made in Elmore cemetery in Fond du Lac county.

Mrs. Elmer Jensen, accompanied at the organ by Mrs. Rueben Mantik, sang “What A Friend” and “Last Mile of the Way”.

Mr. Piehl was born Oct. 14, 1874, at Campbellsport and came to Medford in 1915. His marriage to Ada Harris took place March 8, 1916, at Medford. Mr. Piehl was self-employed as a salesman for Watkins products. He lived in the town of Medford until May when he was hospitalized and spent two months at the nursing home at Abbotsford.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Stella Dean of Baltimore, Md., and Ruth, Mrs. David Wedlund, of Eau Claire; three sons, Fred of Eau Claire, Edwin of Altoona, and Martin of Ann Arbor, Mich.; 15 grand children and two great grand children, and a half-sister, Marie Becker of Hartford. He was preceded in death by a daughter.
