Kolbo, Karey Dee (Plummer) (10 JAN 1947 - 21 MAY 2014)

Karey Dee Kolbo, age 67, Greenwood, went home to our Heavenly Father on May 21, 2014, at the House of the Dove.

Karey was born January 10, 1947 in Neillsville, WI, the daughter of Byron "Barney" and Deveda (Galgusch) Plummer, and received her education in the area schools.

She married Jim Fay January 8, 1966, but later divorced. Karey was united in marriage with Gene L. Kolbo August 14, 1983, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Neillsville, WI and shared their life together farming at rural Greenwood.

Karey loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, animals, travelling, the nature God created, singing and a good joke.Karey fought a valiant decade long battle with cancer before being guided by angels into that blessed land to which we all must journey.

Her illness was a tedious one, yet amidst all her trials, physical sorrow, and approaching death she showed great fortitude and faith. Over the past two years she was cared for by her niece, Shari L. Post, her "adopted son" Marcus and her great-niece, Savannah.

Karey leaves behind her husband, Gene and four children, Laura Fay, Lily (John) Prekezes, Floyd (Mary) Fay, and Byron Fay all of Chicago, IL; her mother Mrs. Deveda Plummer, Colby; a brother Boyd (Sandee) Plummer, rural Owen; a sister Sandy (Ronald) Post, rural Marshfield; seven grandchildren, five step grandchildren, two great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

She was preceded in death, but is now reunited with her father, brother, Charles Plummer, son, Jimmie Fay, and grandson, Gabriel Prekezes.

See ya later, you're singing with the angels now.

A memorial will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, Marshfield, WI on Thursday, June 5, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. and a celebration of Karey's life will be held at a later date.
