Dickey, Sharon A. (20 JUL 1938 - 29 JUN 2014)

Sharon A. Dickey, age 75, of Nekoosa, died Sunday, June 29, 2014 at her home.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM. Saturday, July 5, 2014 at the Nekoosa United Church of Christ. Rev. Timothy Miller will officiate. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 AM. until the time of service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Nekoosa. Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home of Nekoosa is assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed at ritchayfuneralhome.com.

Sharon was born July 20, 1938 in Unity, WI to Rev. John and Esther (Carlson) Olson. She married William Dickey on October 31, 1959 in Unity.

Sharon attended Unity public schools and was a 1956 graduate of Colby Union Area School. She also attended Wisconsin Central State Teachers College in Stevens Point from 1956-1957. She was formerly employed by the Water and Light Commission of Wisconsin Rapids, in the Records Dept. of the Nekoosa Edwards Paper Company, and at Wisconsin Gas Company in Wisconsin Rapids.

Sharon belonged to the Nekoosa United Church of Christ. She also belonged to the Rome Fire Dept. Auxiliary when it was first formed, and was a member of the Joseph J. White American Legion Auxiliary. Sharon greatly enjoyed her grandchildren and enjoyed knitting, playing cards and belonged to a canasta club.

She is survived by her husband, Bill of Nekoosa; 2 sons, Steven (Nanci) Dickey of Wisconsin Rapids and Ryan Dickey of Hardin, MO; and 5 grandchildren, Stephanie (Zach) Pio, Danielle, Nicole, Jasmine, Jacob, and Benjamin Dickey. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Isabel Steinke, and two brothers, Bartlett and Paul Olson.
