Greenwood High School (Class of 1942 Reunion - 29 July 1972)

The Greenwood High School class of 1942 held its 30th year reunion Saturday evening in the Legion Hall. The event began with a coffee hour in the afternoon, followed by a tour of the new Greenwood Elementary School building and the Greenwood Homes, Inc. In the evening a dinner was served by the Legion auxiliary.

Following the meal Robert Worden, master of ceremonies, introduced the guests: Mr. and Mrs. O. P. Duel, Madison; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Davenport, Fort Atkinson: Miss Ruth Ludowise, Cadott; and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Christie, Greenwood.

Prizes were awarded to Mrs. Melvin Schumacher, for coming the greatest distance; Orlando Kind, largest waistline; Mrs. Wilbur Kehrberg, youngest child and licking the most stamps; Mrs. Garth Luchterhand, first reply; Charles Moore, man with longest hair; Mrs. Harold Mitte, most grandchildren; Mrs. O. P. Duel and Mrs. Robert Davenport (Not stated for what). A gift also was presented to Mrs. Robert Susa for baking the special reunion cake and to Robert Davenport; also to Mrs. Donald Wells and Mrs. Melvin Schumacher for having birthdays on Jule 22 and 23.

Attending were 26 class members and their spouses: Mr. and Mrs. Melvin (Fay Opdycke) Schumacher, Enterprise, Al; Dr. and Mrs. Fred (Marjorie Durst) Blix, Ladoga, In.; Mrs. Eugene (Lucee Putzel) Janke, Fenton, Mo.; Charles Moore, Orlando Park, Il.; Mrs. Shirley (Mead) Harms, Monroe; Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lindner, New Berlin; Mr. and Mrs. Allen Kindt, Menomonee Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Goeke, Pewaukee; Mrs. Charles (Verna Caliebe) Grabler, Greenfield; Mr. and Mrs. Fred (Lucy Leach)Gosse, West Allis;

Additional class members present who did not graduate in Greenwood were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Hilbert of Chilton; Mr. and Mrs. Louis (Ruby Afkend) Edwards of loyal; Mr and Mrs. Frank Thomas and Elmer Humke of Greenwood.

It was decided to have the next reunion in 1982 with Mrs. Robert Susa, Mrs. Clayton Braun and Mrs. Glen Zilk on the planning committee.
