------ Firnstahl, G. W. (18?? – 09 MAY 1966)

G. W. Firnstahl, a native of Colby, died Tuesday, May 9, at the age of 82.  Mr. Firnstahl has resided in Seattle, Wash., since 1921.  He founded the Pacific Food Products Co. which manufactures Sunny Jim Preserves and other food products which are sold throughout the northwest.  He headed the firm until 1945 when he retired from active management and became chairman of the board.  His son, Jerome P. Firnstahl, has been manager of the firm since 1945.

Mr. Firnstahl was a member of the Assumption parish, the Knights of Columbus, the National Association of Manufactures and was a senior director of the Metropolitan Federal Saving and Loan association.

Survivors include his wife, Celia, (formerly Celia Eder of Colby), a son, Jerome, and three daughters, Mrs. Edgar Rogge, Mrs. Ronald Preston, and Mrs. Michael Buckley; one brother, I. M. Firnstahl, Colby, and one sister, Miss Lona Firnstahl, Wausau.
