Gaylin E. Edwards, 63, Janesville, died on Wednesday, July 2. Funeral services were held on Wednesday, July 9 at Roxbury Church of Christ in Janesville, with Pastor Jon Grice officiating.

Burial was at Oak Hill Cemetery, with military rites performed by Kienow-Hilt VFW Post No. 1621.

Henke-Clarson Funeral Home of Janesville assisted the family with arrangements.

Gaylin Edwards was born on June 21, 1951 in Marshfield to George and Jean (Hennlich) Edwards. He graduated from Medford High School in 1969 and attended Black Hawk Technical College where he studied airplane mechanics.

On June 10, 1972, he married Catherine Anne Franklin, who survives. He served in the United States Army from November 12, 1970 to August 11, 1973. He worked for Blackhawk Airways, then later for Burdick Corporation, Sub Zero Wolf and most recently Swing and Slide.
He was a member of Vietnam Veterans Chapter No. 236. He enjoyed donating blood, hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife, survivors include his mother, Jean Romang of Medford; a daughter, Amy (Rafael) Bonilla of Illinois; three sisters, Georgia (James) Horst of Arizona, Judy (Randy) Boehm of Fountain City, and Jill Pickreign of Stetsonville; mother-in-law, Bernice Brey of Janesville; two brothers-in-law, Michael Franklin and David (Laurie) Brey, both of Janesville; two step-sisters and two step-brothers, all of Athens; two grandchildren, Rafael Bonilla and Emmy Bonilla; aunts and uncles; cousins; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father; two sons, Anthony and Andrew Edwards; step-father, Donald Romang; father-in-law, Vernon Brey; and sister-in-law, Jean Smith.

In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to a fund to be established.
